Control Linkage Photos From Our Customers

Hello:

Shown are photos of control linkage installations that I have taken as well as photos sent to us from our customers. Someone once said that a photograph is worth a thousand words. That especially so in the information shown in the following photos. Most of the photos deal with our products, but you will also see products from our competitors and that is fine with me. The purpose of these photos is for our customers to obtain information on how to make proper linkage installations that will provide the highest structural integrity and safety.

Jerry Nelson

Photo of the installation of our NELSON RCL70 Swivel Control Horns on the rudder and elevator on Pat Roy's 28% Wild Hare Edge 540. Roy says, " It works wonders with the control system." Pat suggests the use of a touch of Loctite on the RCL70 nuts, however we have not found the need to do so. The use of Loctite (type that will allow the removal of the nut) on all nuts is a good idea and one may consider it use on all nuts in the aircraft. Anytime you can add a little bit more redundancy to the aircraft is something you should always do. Note the clever way of attaching a carbon fiber tail wheel pushrod. Matt Hill photo.

Floating bellcrank pull-pull rudder cable installation in Ron Crume's 40% Extra. NELSON control arms (old style) on servos. NELSON Floating Bellcrank Arms were custom made for Ron's aircraft. Hope to have these arms available in the future if customers want them. Our RCL87 Ball Links used in the assembly.

Installation of our DSA300 servo arms on JR8611 servos joined together and driving one of our L350B250 bellcranks. Notice how you can install the ball links on the top and bottom of the servo arms. The entire servo tray assembly is removable. Aircraft is a Hangar 9 Sukhoi. Rick Allison photo.

Here is Bennett Gomez's installation of our RCL70 Swivel control horns on the rudder and elevator and RCL87 Ball Links installed on his Ultimate biplane. Bennett Gomez photo.
